Kabuse-Cha comes from the Japanese verb kabuseru, to cover. Fukamushi is a degree of steaming to fix the tea in an oxidation stage. In Japan, the tea plant is shaded so that it thinks it is in an emergency situation. Since it does not receive enough light, it now produces more chlorophyll. This creates a taste that is distinctive for shade-grown tea, which the Japanese call umami. You can really taste umami on the tongue. It is a hearty taste that connoisseurs immediately associate with Japan. Our beautiful Kabuse Cha comes from Yame Prefecture and combines many good qualities. It is round, dense and hearty. Its cup is deep green and cloudy. The tea is so powerful that you can brew it at least 4 times. It even brews in cold water. Please play around with different temperatures to discover the full flavor profile! We are pleased to be able to offer this evergreen at this low price.
